Dark Endeavors
Welcome to Dark Endeavors, home of The Boulder Lout and library of Dark Cloud's essays and radio commentaries over the past several geologic ages.

Dark Endeavors is (generally) a one man consultancy, most often - not always - for issues and/or representation involving the interests expressed on this site.

Dick MacLeod was a Boulder, Colorado commentator, columnist, writer and musician. He passed away in the summer of 2015, after making Boulder his home for over 40 years. Dick shared his talents via a weekly radio commentary on KGNU, and occasional columns in local publications. He is known and remembered by many who valued his acerbic wit and opinions, even though they may not have agreed with him. His radio and publication audiences knew one of his facets, those closer to him knew many others. People's lives were made richer by Dick, and those of us who shared his friendship are proud to have known him.

This site is being preserved as a tribute to Dick's work. Although there is much more than appears here, this represents what he had cataloged. Our intent is to keep it active as long as possible so that interested parties can use it for a reference of his work, or just to hear Dick's voice again. To that end, the site has been modified to include code updates, and certain portions (forums and blogs) have been omitted in order to run on different servers. It is hoped that additional material (including some of his music) may be added in the future. If you would like to make a contribution to help keep this site live, please contact us. 100% of your contribution will go to the maintenance and preservation of this site as Dick's legacy.

Please note that any references to Dick's columns, commentaries, blogs, forums or other projects are no longer active. The email address darkcloud@darkendeavors.com is still periodically monitored, but not on a regular basis.
